Published Online: Monday, September 1, 2003 and the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) have formed a strategic alliance to help ensure safer pharmaceutical care. NPTA is the largest professional organization for pharmacy technicians in the world, with more than 24,000 members.

    NPTA is providing access to Chain through the association?s Web site ( as a member benefit. For the first time, technicians will have instant, secure access to timely information from manufacturers, including new product announcements, recalls, patient counseling, and continuing education.

    ?I am confident that providing this resource to NPTA members is going to enable pharmacy technicians to stay abreast of product developments, new programs, and breaking news regarding their industry and, therefore, provide more effective and efficient patient care,? said Mike Johnston, CPhT, executive director of NPTA.
