Pleasing Music Helps Ease Motion Sickness

Published Online: Wednesday, June 11, 2014
Listening to your favorite song could help to reduce the feeling of motion sickness, according to the results of a study published in the May 2014 issue of Applied Ergonomics. Study participants were randomly assigned to listen to relaxing music, neutral music, stressful music, or no music while watching a video taken during a bicycle ride. Regardless of the music type, participants who listened to music they felt was pleasant had significantly reduced motion sickness severity.
