Indication: Sandoz announces the US launch of doxercalciferol injection, the first generic version of Genzyme’s Hectorol. Doxercalciferol injection is indicated for the treatment of secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease who are on dialysis. The product is being marketed in 4 mcg/2 mL—single-use vials. The recommended initial dose of doxercalciferol injection is 4 mcg administered intravenously as a bolus 3 times weekly at the end of dialysis.

Rabeprazole Sodium Delayed-Release Tablets

It is a proton pump inhibitor indicated for the healing of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), maintenance of healing of erosive or ulcerative GERD, treatment of symptomatic GERD, healing of duodenal ulcers, Helicobacter pylori eradication to prevent duodenal ulcers, and treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Indication: Teva Pharmaceuticals announces the introduction and availability of imiquimod cream. The product is AB rated and bioequivalent to Aldara cream, manufactured by Medicis Pharmaceutical Corporation. It is indicated for the treatment of actinic keratosis and external genital warts. Imiquimod cream should be applied to the affected areas 2 times per week for 16 weeks for actinic keratosis, and 3 times per week to external genital or perianal warts.
