Do you have a formulation for extemporaneous preparation of prednisolone suspension? I have a pediatric patient who cannot tolerate the manufactured preparation.

Prednisolone Sodium Phosphate Oral Solution #1 (sugar-free, alcohol-free, dye-free) Calculated to make 100 mL

Ingredients:
Prednisolone sodium phosphate 0.135 g
Sorbitol 70% USP 50.0 mL
Sodium saccharin 0.500 g
*Flavor concentrate 1.0 mL
Distilled water USP qs ad 100.0 mL
*Raspberry, strawberry, or cherry.

Supplies:
Balance with weights and weigh paper or weigh boats
Graduated cylinder
Mortar and pestle
Beaker
Stirring rod

Procedure:

1. Dissolve the prednisolone sodium phosphate and the sodium saccharin in 40 mL of distilled water.
2. Add the sorbitol 70% USP and flavor concentrate to (1) with stirring.
3. Add sufficient distilled water to (2) to make 100 mL.
