Read about sexism, impatient patients, and other pet peeves.

When a customer wants to talk to the pharmacist and points to the male technician. Female pharmacists, has this ever happened to you?

COST CONFUSION.

When a patient says, “But the doctor said it would only cost $4!”

PATIENTS WHO ONLY WANT TO HEAR THEY ARE RIGHT.

Patients who ask for my opinion and then argue with me because my advice goes against what they have been doing.

LYING TO COVER TRACKS

Pharmacist intern: “We received an Rx for Augmentin. Does the provider know this patient is allergic to amoxicillin?”

Medical assistant: “Yes, the provider is aware.”

Call back 5 minutes later; pharmacist to physician: “Did you know this patient is allergic to amoxicillin?”

Physician: “Oh my god! Thanks for catching that!”

The same medical assistant from earlier: “The pharmacy never called to verify that.”
