Educational Objectives

After completing this continuing education program, the participant will be able to:

  • Discuss why postprandial hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia occur with existing prandial therapies.
  • Review the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profile, efficacy, and safety of available prandial therapies, as well as those in development.
  • Discuss the role of prandial therapies in addressing patient therapeutic needs, as well as the importance of counseling patients on safe and effective drug therapy use.
