Specialty Pharmacist of the Year

Sponsored by:

With an exhaustive work ethic to match his generous spirit, Greg Fox, RPh, is a pharmacist truly dedicated to patients across the entire spectrum of health care.

Fox promotes safe discharges and contiguous care plans, the results of which are readily apparent in decreased hospital readmissions and central line infections in the patients he tirelessly serves. Whether commercially insured or bound to a hospice, Fox goes the extra mile to donate his time, skills, and medications to every patient, regardless of income level.

A graduate of the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy, Fox’s love for his state is apparent in his willingness to make routine home visits to his patients to make sure they receive their proper medication. He reaches underserved Native Americans in the rural areas of the state in this way.

More than 30 years ago, Fox began his career working for various hospitals and rehabilitation facilities in the Tucson area before starting his own company, Fox Infusion, in 1997. Fox Infusion is compliant with nearly 800 standards for medium- and high-risk compounding, while the company’s infusion specialty nurses teach, assist, and evaluate each patient’s ability and comfort in therapy administration. Additionally, Fox Infusion uses a boardcertified nutrition support pharmacist to assist physicians in monitoring and adjusting nutritional therapy.

Whether through nutritional support or his background in pain management, Fox is able to provide emergency and first doses to patients without disrupting their care program.

Fox’s extensive track record earned his company the Medicare Competitive Bid award for providing enteral products throughout the state and preferred provider status for the Carondelet and Banner Healthcare Networks. Fox also works with students to train and nurture the next generation of specialty pharmacists.

“Greg is an exceptional mentor, a forward-thinking pharmacist, and an excellent community resource,” his nomination read.
