I am using symbicort 160/4.5 two puffs twice daily. Atrovent inhaler 2 puffs every 4 hours. Ventolin as needed. And fluticasone propionate nasel spray 2 puffs each nostral once daily.

I have stage 4 copd.

Could someone please tell me if these meds should work well together.I tried spiriva many times and have stomach problems with it.

Thanks in advance.

Which is better for a patient symbacort or advair? I have had asthma about 14 months and it was probably brought on by all my allergies.

I was just given a sample of Symbicort by my doctor. I'm 42 and contracted asthma as soon as I was born -- at least that's what I learned a few years ago, that no one is born with asthma. I've been taking up to 20 puffs a day of my Primatene Mist inhaler. These past two years I can't get on top of it. Primatene Mist won't even fully knock out an attack. As a child I went to a specialist in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, then to Mayo Clinic. As I got older, I stopped getting prescriptions for Ventolin and Theodore. I guess 18 years of Bricanyl and Prednizone was enough. It wasn't until about a week ago a man told me that I'm lucky I'm not dead for taking so much Primatene Mist. I've been going through an inhaler every week for months. I hope this Symbicort works. My doctor gave me some Advair samples as well. He said just don't use them both at the same time.
