Fundraiser Helps Those in Need

FEBRUARY 01, 2006

Vision Pharma believes in supporting good causes. The generic pharmaceutical company, located in Wall, NJ, recently held a fundraiser for AmeriCares with a focus on hurricane relief for individuals affected by the hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast in 2005, especially Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. The event, which was held November 17, 2005, at Echo in Red Bank, NJ, raised $2100 toward the ongoing relief efforts.

"We felt, with the holidays approaching, any effort you could take to help these people would be good. As a company, we recognize that all the disastrous events of 2005 put the emphasis on what our industry is all about, providing aid and improving the lives of those in need,"commented Thomas DeStefano, vice president of sales and marketing for the company.

With the devastation of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Vision Pharma helped meet the requests of CVS and Wal-Mart for pharmaceuticals in the affected areas. They, along with other pharmaceutical companies, donated a 30-day supply of medications to help hurricane victims. The company also donated >$200,000 in pharmaceuticals to Heart to Heart International, a humanitarian organization that, among other countless projects, helped provide pharmaceuticals to Eastern Asia for tsunami relief in 2005.
