Samuel Grossman, BSPharm, PharmD, CDE
Diabetes Care On-the-Go
Dr. Samuel Grossman's dedication to diabetes education has helped to improve the lives of patients and expand the role of the pharmacist as a care provider.
Throughout his career as a diabetes educator, Dr. Grossman has cared for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings and was among the first pharmacists to establish a diabetes care program in a community pharmacy in the New York area. He became president and senior diabetes educator at Diabetes Care On-the-Go-Inc, a diabetes care center located in Canarsie Plaza Pharmacy in Brooklyn, New York. The program, which received American Association of Diabetes Educators Certification in 2009, serves as a mentoring site in ambulatory diabetes care for pharmacists and students.
Using experience gained throughout his 22-year career, Dr. Grossman currently works as a patient-associated care team pharmacist and diabetes educator at the New York Veteran’s Administration Medical Center.
Dr. Grossman’s work extends beyond education, as he also holds leadership positions in several associations, helping with advocacy and awareness efforts. He has been appointed to the Chronic Disease Advisory Board to represent the pharmacy profession to the Commissioner of Health and Senior Services and to improve policies supporting patients with diabetes. He is also on the board of directors of the American Diabetes Association New Jersey community, serving as the advocacy chair for the state organization.
Committed to education, Dr. Grossman serves as an adjunct associate professor at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing of the City University of New York, and is a clinical assistant professor at Arnold and Marie College of Pharmacy of Long Island University.
