A new on-line training program will help pharmacy retailers detect and prevent fraud, waste, and abuse in government health care programs. "Preventing Fraud, Waste, and Abuse" was developed by the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and LearnSomething Inc.
The course was designed because fraud, waste, and abuse "can be a significant source of liability for unwary pharmacies and pharmacists arising from unintentional or careless errors," according to the NACDS.
The program can be tailored to include each individual company's policies and procedures. The resource tool also can be branded to fit within the look and feel of a company's own training programs, such as applying company logos and customized introductions, explained the association. The NACDS Foundation is offering course demonstrations and more information at www.nacdsf.learnsomething.com.
