23-city bus tour was a success.
The tour's purpose was to raise awareness
of the vital role community pharmacists
play in the health of Americans.
Here are highlights from the tour:
- The tour gathered 68,238 signatures
for the "Keeping Pharmacy
Care Personal Petition;" the petition
is to demonstrate to policy
makers the need to preserve every
individual's access to community
pharmacists
- More than 3500 community pharmacists
received Pharmacy Advocacy
Toolkits to help promote
their value in their communities
- 830 participants took advantage
of the free health screenings
- Nominations from the National
Community Pharmacists Association
and the American Pharmacists
Association resulted in a total of
$23,000 in scholarships being
awarded to 28 pharmacy students
