Travel Tips for People With Asthma

In this podcast, Elizabeth Herman, MD, MPH, of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Asthma Program, explains travel guidelines for people with asthma.
 
Dr. Herman describes trip preparation as it relates to packing and taking long-acting and rescue medications during the trip, as well as updating any necessary immunizations. She explains the importance of having an up-to-date asthma action plan and sharing that plan with travel partners. In addition, she recommends researching accommodations and destinations, to account for the potential presence of pets, allergens or other triggers.
