Pneumonia Shot Widely Recommended, Little Used

Pharmacists know that flu vaccination rates have increased because of the high visibility of the influenza vaccine. Pneumococcal vaccination does not have this level of exposure, and vaccination rates reflect it—only 57% of individuals 65 years and older who are advised to get a pneumonia vaccine have ever gotten one.
