Pharmavite is recalling these products because the company discovered that Salmonella and Staphylococcus aureus testing was not completed properly on these lots.

“Pharmavite has identified the cause of the error, is taking the matter very seriously, and has implemented corrective actions to rectify the issue,” the company said in a press release.

“Pharmavite cares deeply about the health and safety of consumers, and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Consumers can return the products to the retailer for a full refund, and they can call the company with questions Monday through Friday 7 AM to 5 PM PST at 1-800-276-2878.

None of Pharmavite’s other products are affected by this recall.

Salmonella, which typically presents as fever, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, can be fatal in young children, elderly adults, or those with weakened immune systems. When it enters the bloodstream, which happens rarely, it can produce more dire illnesses, such as arthritis, endocarditis, and arterial infections.

Staph aureaus toxin can lead to food poisoning. Symptoms usually occur quickly, and they may present as nausea, vomiting, retching, abdominal cramping, and prostration. However, some patients may not demonstrate all the symptoms associated with the illness.

Headache, muscle cramping, and changes in blood pressure and pulse may occur in more serious cases.
