Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Crashes 2 Cars During Police Chase

A suspect who allegedly robbed Eckerd Pharmacy in Ashland City, Tennessee, at gunpoint and then led police on a high-speed, cross-county chase was apprehended on the night of November 4, 2014.

According to WRKN-TV Nashville, Larry Bradley allegedly entered the pharmacy around 5:45 p.m., threatened staff, and fled the scene in a silver Lexus. During the ensuing police chase, Bradley allegedly reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour, but crashed the car into another vehicle.

He allegedly fled the crash on foot and attempted to enter a nearby home. After the homeowner prevented him from entering, Bradley allegedly carjacked another vehicle, which he immediately crashed.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol's Aviation Unit was able to direct K9 officers to Bradley’s location. An investigation into the crashes and attempted home invasion is ongoing. Meanwhile, Bradley has been charged with aggravated burglary and is being held on $110,000 bond.

In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, police have located a man who shot himself in the foot shortly after allegedly attempting to rob a local pharmacy.

Phillip G. Sapp, 29, allegedly entered Southside Discount Pharmacy armed with a rifle on November 5, 2014, and demanded “all prescription drugs,” the News & Record reported.

After pharmacy employees ran away from him, Sapp allegedly left in a Honda Accord without receiving any medications.

Soon after the incident, police received a call about a shooting at an apartment complex and learned that the victim was being treated for a gunshot wound to the foot at a local medical center. Officers investigating the incident found a rifle in a Honda Accord, interviewed Sapp, and determined that the wound was self-inflicted.

Sapp is now lodged in Forsyth County Jail on $75,000 bail.

In New Hampshire, a man was charged with criminal threatening, robbery, and simple assault after allegedly robbing a Rite Aid in Manchester on November 5, 2014.

Randy Drouin, 20, allegedly demanded Oxycontin from the pharmacy and left with 9 bottles of the medicine, WMUR Manchester reports. Police located him running behind the medical center next door, and they cornered him after setting up a perimeter.

Drouin was allegedly uncooperative during the handcuffing and booking process.

Meanwhile, in Kentucky, a man was charged on November 5, 2014 for allegedly breaking into a pharmacy in October and stealing medications.

According to Kentucky New Era, Robert G. Powell, 30, allegedly cut telephone wires to Tom’s Family Pharmacy and then knocked out the doorknob on the rear door to gain access to the location. The pharmacy’s video surveillance system allegedly recorded him taking several medications.
