Armed Thieves Demand Narcotics From Pharmacies

From West Virginia to Utah, robbers have demanded narcotic drugs from pharmacies at gunpoint.

West Virginia State Police have arrested a man who demanded narcotic drugs from a CVS in Fairlea on October 25, 2014.

According to WVVA, Larry Waid, 25, entered the pharmacy at approximately 6:45 p.m., demanded drugs from the pharmacist, and threatened to harm her if she did not comply. He allegedly left with $300 of oxycodone and hydrocodone, both of which have a much higher street value.

Waid was charged with robbery and is currently being held on $25,000 bond.

Police in Utah believe one individual committed 2 separate pharmacy robberies in Weber County over a 3-day period.

According to the Standard Examiner, a man approached the pharmacy counter at a Walmart Neighborhood Marketplace on October 26, 2014, and demanded narcotics. Although the suspect did not show a weapon, he implied possession of one and left the store with an undisclosed amount of narcotics.

Two days earlier, the same suspect allegedly went directly to the pharmacy counter at a Walgreens in Ogden, Utah, and demanded cash and drugs.

No one was injured in either incident.

Hampton, Virginia, police are still searching for a suspect in a robbery that occurred at a CVS pharmacy on October 26, 2014.

An armed man allegedly entered the pharmacy at approximately 7 p.m. and demanded narcotics, The Daily Press reported. He left the pharmacy after receiving the drugs.

No customers were inside during the incident, and no employees were injured.

The suspect was last seen wearing black pants, a gray short sleeve shirt with a patch on the left sleeve, and a white baseball hat. He used a white T-shirt to conceal his identity.

A North Carolina man was charged with felony attempted robbery after allegedly demanding drugs on October 24, 2014, from a Walgreens and a Rite Aid located across the street from one another.

Michael Lineberger, 22, is currently being held on $100,000 bond, NBC Charlotte reported. Lineberger allegedly showed a clerk a revolver and demanded drugs, though he walked out of the store after being told the drugs were locked up. The revolver turned out to be a BB gun.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lineberger allegedly visited the Walgreens earlier in the day and gave his name when asking for a prescription. He left the premises after the pharmacy did not have the medicine and then allegedly crossed the street to enter a Rite Aid, where he asked about a prescription. After receiving the same response, he allegedly returned to Walgreens.

Police used the man’s name to find his home address, where they eventually located him.

Elsewhere in North Carolina, a woman was charged with 2 counts of robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in conjunction with 2 pharmacy robberies on October 24, 2014.

Shakeyra Cousart, 29, was charged on October 26, 2014, though she was identified as a suspect on the day of the incident, NBC Charlotte reported. Cousart allegedly entered a Bi-Lo, showed a gun, and demanded narcotics. Then, she allegedly repeated her demand at a CVS pharmacy 1 hour later.

According to police, a Rite Aid employee reported a suspicious woman in the vicinity on October 26, 2014, and provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle. Police located the car at an apartment complex nearby and found Cousart inside an apartment unit.
