The Maine Benzodiazepine Study Group is seeking pharmacists' input to determine how many take-back and disposal drug programs are in the United States. Currently, no consolidated list of these programs exists across the country and abroad. The goal is that the survey will be updated annually.

The results will be published in the National Directory for Drug Take-Back and Disposal Programs. The findings will be presented at the November 2008 International Symposium on Pharmaceuticals in the Home and Environment: Catalysts for Change.

The survey is spearheaded by the Maine group, but will be conducted by the Community Medical Foundation for Patient Safety in Bellaire, Texas. To take the survey, visit www.mainebenzo.org/.
