The Advisory Committee on Immunization
Practices, which advises the
Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), recently voted to
expand the recommended ages for annual
flu vaccines to include all children from
6 months to 18 years. Current pediatric
recommendations call for flu vaccines for
children 6 months to 5 years. The CDC
usually follows the advice of the committee.
