In a move recommended by the state’s pharmacy board, New Mexico is now requiring anyone who picks up drugs for another person to present government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or state ID card. It has been reported that attempts by individuals to pick up prescriptions for others have dropped by 70% since the policy went into effect in the state January 1.
