Angeles Dorame, CPhT, of Scottsdale
Professional Pharmacy Ltd in Scottsdale,
Arizona, had a difficult time trying to determine
what medication was being ordered for the
patient. After several attempts at trying to
translate this illegible handwriting, Dorame
called the prescribing physician’s office for
clarification. Do you know what drug the
physician ordered?
Registered Pharmacist Amy Malmen, of The
Medicine Shoppe in Mattoon, Illinois, had a pretty
good idea what drug the patient was prescribed.
Still, she called the physician’s office for confirmation.
The physician’s nurse told her she had the
correct drug. Can you figure out this script?
ANSWERS
Rx 1: Subutex 8 mg, 1 tablet daily as needed.
Rx 2: Verapamil SR 240 mg, #30, take 1 tablet daily.
