Fougera is continuing its mission
to support AmeriCares. The pharmaceutical
company, along with its
parent company Nycomed US Inc,
recently presented the international
relief organization with a gift of
medicines and other items.
The medicines, including topical
steroids and topical antibiotics, were produced specifically for AmeriCares after
the organization identified those most needed due to war, poverty, or natural disasters
in countries throughout the world. The company's philanthropic program,
Fougera Cares, has been helping the organization for 16 years.
"Fougera began making medicine in 1849, based on the belief that every person
should have access to affordable, quality medication. This tradition remains
at the core of our business model," said Paul McGarty, Nycomed chief executive
officer. "Our 16-year relationship with AmeriCares has provided us an opportunity
to help thousands of doctors, clinics, and hospitals in the United States and
around the world with medicines that they would otherwise go without."
