A recent survey of 1726 individuals
revealed their perceptions about drug
safety.
The poll, which was conducted by
Harris Interactive and the Pharmaceutical
Safety Institute, found that:
• 52% of respondents felt it is very or
highly important to receive safety
information on drugs
• 33% of respondents often or always
seek drug safety data for themselves,
a family member, or someone
they provide with care
• 53% of respondents felt that a physician
or health care provider is a source
they trust to receive more information
about the side effects of drugs
• 69% of respondents are confident
that the drug companies release
information they have about a
drug’s adverse reactions as soon as
it becomes available
