The FDA's Center for Drug
Evaluation and Research (CDER) has
launched an on-line educational program
about the safe and effective
use of OTC medications. The "Medicines
in My Home" interactive Web
site includes a "Teachers' Room,"
featuring a PowerPoint presentation,
a pre-and posttest, in-class lesson
materials, and activities for use with
family members.
The program, in cooperation with
the National Council on Patient
Information and Education and
Maryland's Montgomery County
Public Schools, emphasizes the significance
of the drug facts label
and tells children to ask adults for
permission before using a medication.

the program, visit www.fda.gov/cder/medsinmyhome/index.html.
