The National Association of Chain
Drug Stores (NACDS) has formed a new
council to improve the value and significance
of the retail pharmacy industry,
as well as the interaction between
pharmacists and their patients. The
NACDS Pharmacy Industry Council
(PIC) will provide a forum to identify
and address common issues and challenges
peculiar to the pharmacy industry,
while communicating with the
NACDS Board of Directors, council
member companies, and other pharmacy
organizations and policy makers.
The PIC has 21 associate members
and 11 retailers, with 3 subcommittees
on the importance of pharmacy, technology,
and the supply chain. The
leadership will focus on pharmacy
issues, encourage member participation,
and aid the development of programs
that will be beneficial to all
NACDS members.
