INDEPENDENT PHARMACY CUSTOMERS ARE "MOST SATISFIED," STUDY FINDS
Published Online: June 1, 2007 - 12:00:00 AM (CDT)

New research findings suggest that customers of independent pharmacies experience higher levels of satisfaction, compared with customers of other types of drugstores.

The study, outlined in a report from J.D. Power and Associates, compared levels of satisfaction among customers of Medicine Shoppe pharmacies—a franchise of independent pharmacy owners—with satisfaction levels for those of patrons of traditional chain drugstores, mass merchandisers, and supermarket pharmacies.

In addition to ranking Medicine Shoppe independents above other community pharmacy outlets, the J.D. Power researchers found that customers were significantly more satisfied with pharmacies where individuals are asked if they want to speak to the pharmacist.
