Michigan Hospital Chooses ValiMed
The ValiMed system is now operationalat Henry Ford Hospital, a 903-bedtertiary care facility in Detroit, Mich. Thesystem will perform end-product testingof compounded intravenous medicationin the hospital's pharmacydepartment, as well as validation ofreturned narcotics in its operating roomsuites and nursing units. Developed byCDEX Inc, the ValiMed medication-verificationsystem provides clinicians witha fast, cost-effective, and simple tool tofurther guarantee medication safety byvalidating that medications are properlycompounded.
ValiMed works by using a patent-pendingtechnology to verify compoundeddoses of high-risk medicationsbefore dispensing. The solutioncreates an additional level of safety inthe medication-dispensing process, andit also is used to validate narcoticreturns as well as to identify counterfeitmedications.
