Study Examines Sleep Patterns

Twice as many women experience insomnia, compared with men. The results of thestudy, reported in The Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health (May 2005),showed that Insomnia was connected with older age, divorce or separation, unemployment,and failure to graduate high school.

Unemployment and divorce caused insomnia at greater rates in women, compared withmen. Women with higher educational levels had less insomnia. The opposite was seen in men.
