HHS Initiates On-Line "Channel"
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has launched a9-month pilot project with WebMD Health. The collaboration will makeHHS consumer health information more widely and more readily availableto the public on a new HHS online "channel" on WebMD.
During the pilot, HHS will choose health content supporting nationalpriorities and relevant to a general consumer audience from a variety of informationproduced by HHS agencies. Topics discussed will include physicalactivity, nutrition, preventive screening, and diabetes. The new HHS channelon WebMD will showcase information from across the many HHSagencies that distribute health information to the public, such as the FDA,the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Centers forMedicare and Medicaid Services. The HHS channel can be accessed atwww.hhs.webmd.com.
