CDMs in Diabetes Are Offered for Georgia Pharmacists
The Academy of Independent Pharmacy(AIP) of the Georgia PharmacyAssociation will reimburse up to 50 ofits pharmacist members for completinga Diabetes Review Course as well as successfulcompletion of the Certified DiseaseManager (CDM) in Diabetes examination.After these pharmacistsbecome CDMs in diabetes, AIP willcompensate them for providing directpatient care for 2 patients. The AIP hascommitted to increasing the number ofCDMs in diabetes in Georgia in order tocreate a network of pharmacistproviders who are financially compensatedto care for diabetic patients.
Pharmacists who pass the exam earn the National Institute for Standards inPharmacist Credentialing's (NISPC) nationally recognized CDM credentialand are listed on both the NISPC and the National Association of Boards ofPharmacy Web sites. Pharmacists may apply for the exam at the NISPC Website at www.nispcnet.org, or they may call 404-788-5883.
