The Supreme Court Upholds Health Care Law

JULY 05, 2012
The news came through last week: "In a dramatic victory for President Barack Obama, the Supreme Court upheld the 2010 health care law Thursday, preserving Obama’s landmark legislative achievement. The majority opinion was written by Chief Justice John Roberts, who held that the law was a valid exercise of Congress’s power to tax. The decision came as a sharp rebuff and disappointment to congressional Republicans, many of whom had expected the court to strike down at least some parts of the law.”

Clearly, our country seems to be divided over health care reform and what is best for everyone. Now that the Supreme Court has answered that the law is constitutional, unless it is repealed it will be implemented.

Will this law be good for pharmacy? Could it be good for our profession, but not good for the country or could it be good for the country but not good for our profession? Let’s hear what you think.
